Department of Justice Hires Proxy Personnel to Assist with PSOB Claims

DOJ awards Proxy Personnel a $2 million contract.

The Department of Justice awards Proxy Personnel an approximately $2 million contract to provide staffing support to the Office of the General Counsel (OGC).  Legal Proxy, a division of Proxy Personnel, will manage the recruiting, staffing, and management of this contract.

The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) currently has approximately 300 Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) claims that require review and disposition. New claims are received continuously. Proxy Personnel will provide the DOJ with attorneys and law clerks to assist with the processing of these claims.

The contract Attorneys will conduct legal reviews and analysis of the PSOB claims, and submit to the OGC supervising attorney written memoranda, reports, or analyses of claims, as necessary. The contract Law Clerks will assist the OGC staff attorneys in conducting legal reviews and analysis of the PSOB claims, and submit to the OJP staff attorneys written memoranda, reports, or analyses of claims, as necessary. The contract Attorneys and Law Clerks may be given other assignments related to legal work on matters related to the PSOB Act as necessary and appropriate.
